ALABEL, Sarangani (October 22, 2016) - This P40-million 4.3-kilometer Poblacion–Alegria provincial road improvement in Sarangani’s capital town Alabel is among the province’s major ongoing road projects for rehab and concreting. Most of these road networks connect to far-flung barangays and serve as route in transporting agri products. GENERAL SANTOS CITY (October 22, 2016) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon speaks at the Regional Consultative Conference of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on October 17. TESDA will continue to offer jobs and free vocational training courses in Sarangani province. The consultative conference was also graced by TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling Mamondiong. MAITUM, Sarangani (October 18, 2016) – Tourists navigate part of the 1.6-kilometer white water tubing route at Pangi River in barangay New la Union (NLU) which has been consistently drawing visitors with an average of 25 tourists per day. NLU White Water Tubing Eco Park fees are P200/person for the tube ride and P10 person for entrance fee. Pangi River is one of the country’s cleanest rivers. ALABEL, Sarangani (October 13, 2016) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Sarangani accentuated the agency’s complementing duties as developmental for the consumers, and regulatory for the business sector, when it launched Consumer Welfare Month on Monday (October 10).
Banking on the theme “Consumer Protection: A Shared Responsibility,” DTI provincial director Engr. Nenita Barroso said her office has been constantly reminding the public on their consumer rights. The DTI also closely monitors establishments if trade laws are properly implemented.
Around six establishments in Sarangani had already been penalized since last year for violation on the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker.
MALUNGON, Sarangani (October 13, 2016) – The Department of Agriculture(DA) has distributed about P5.5-million worth of farm machineries and irrigation facilities to local farmers group-beneficiaries in an intention to fortify the land tillers’ food production in the municipality.
Mayor Atty. Maria Theresa D. Constantino said the two units of high-powered 4W-Drive tractors, two units DHP irrigation facilities, and three units of collapsible case dryers were delivered by DA late last month. These will be of great use to furnish the demands of local farmers in enhancing their farm produce, specifically of those residing in the far flung villages.
