Celebration of peace month in Maitum

A presidential proclamation has declared September as month of National Peace Consciousness which envisions to avoid unnecessary conflicts that would hinder progress or even result to loss of life. Candle-lighting for peace

MAITUM, Sarangani (October 5, 2016) – (Left to right, foreground) Police Chief Inspector Rodel Javison, Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit and 1Lt. Jayson Ramos lead the candle lighting ceremony at the municipal gym on September 30. The ceremony, which was simultaneously conducted with the 116th Civil Service Anniversary Culmination, was done in line with the Peace Consciousness Month. With a theme "Tayo ang Pagbabago, Tayo ang Kapayapaan", the event aims to spread tolerance and fundamentals of respect with different cultural sectors and to inspire the people to create a long lasting and non-violent community. 29 classrooms added to MNHS

MAITUM, Sarangani (October 5, 2016) - "Do not train children to learn by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their mind," says Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit during the groundbreaking ceremony of four- and three-storey buildings with 29 classrooms at Malalag National High School (MNHS) on September 29. Vice Mayor Tito Balazon Sr., Municipal Councilor Limuel Gacula and representatives from Sarangani District Engineering Office, Barangay Malalag Council, faculty, staff, General Parents Teachers Association and students of MNHS joined the event. Mayor Reganit ended his speech by challenging them to "use the buildings to send the message that education is important to you and that it is valued." (John James I. 1,595 students get new classrooms

MAITUM, Sarangani (October 5, 2016) - The Department of Public Works and Highways - Sarangani District Engineering Office together with Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit and the faculty and staff of Malalag National High school led by Vilma Funcion, principal, hold a ground breaking ceremony of the four- and three-storey school buildings with 29 classrooms on September 29. The area where the building was being constructed was donated by Narvaez Family. The new classrooms will be used by around 1,300 to 1,595 students as better learning facilities that will promote social, economic and political integration through education. (John James I.
