MAASIM, Sarangani (June 30, 2016) – Looking through the eyes of these pupils at Ludin Logan IP Primary School who have to walk to school four kilometers every day is already agonizing. Getting to school is hard among far-flung communities because of the poor transportation and lack of school supplies. Some children even go to school without lunch to eat and slippers to wear. Some of these Tboli kids carry notebooks slid in a plastic bag. Reused cellophanes are common in poor remote places as school bags. MAITUM, Sarangani (June 28, 2016) - Police Senior Inspector Rodel Gimepino Javison assumes as new municipal chief of police replacing Police Senior Inspector Jaime Dy Chavez during the flag ceremony at the Municipal Hall Monday, June 27. Javison was a former chief on Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Force, chief of Human Rights Office and Investigation Branch of Sarangani Provincial Police Office and an awardee as Best Junior Non-Commissioned Officer and Country's Outstanding Policeman in Service 2016 when he was assigned at Police Station 2, General Santos City. He also launched the 21st Police Relations Month with the theme "Matatag na Ugnayan, Ligtas na Pamayanan" which follows Presidential Proclamation No. 764 declaring the month of July as Police Community Relations Month. ALABEL, Sarangani (June 27, 2016) – President-elect Rodrigo Duterte graced Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao’s oath-taking ceremony on Wednesday (June 22) as Region 12’s first Senator.
In the midst of his speech, Pacquiao publicly declared allegiance to the incoming President as he pointed out support to the succeeding administration’s advocacies on “death penalty, federalism and national security.”
“This afternoon, I declare wholehearted support to Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” Pacquiao said.
It was Duterte’s second visit to Sarangani. On November 27, 2015, Duterte delivered a speech in the same venue during the Munato Festival and 23rd Foundation Anniversary of Sarangani a few hours after his lawyer filed his certificate of candidacy for president in Intramuros.
