Rescuers perform first aid

MAITUM, Sarangani (June 26, 2016) – Rescuers from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Kabalikat Civicom perform the basic of first aid to an earthquake “victim” who had an arm fracture during the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held at Maitum Municipal Hall on June 22. During the drill, proper execution of duck, cover and hold which is the best overall chance of quick protection from falling debris was also observed. The drill was extremely important as a part of preparedness plan on how to respond to the complications of an actual earthquake, and evaluate how well parts of emergency plan work together in a locality. MIBF-PRA for all Maitum barangays

MAITUM, Sarangani (June 26, 2016) - Over 100 participants coming from the 19 barangays of Maitum gather during the Municipal Inter Barangay Forum - PARTICIPATORY RESOURCE ALLOCATION (MIBF-PRA) held at JLC Municipal Hall on June 15. The event was conducted by Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan (KALAHI-CIDSS) of the Local Government Unit of Maitum through Department of Social Welfare and Development Office. A guideline was set for the selection of the most appropriate and responsive interventions for the KALAHI-CIDSS project prioritization process, participation and transparency. Maitum holds quake drill

MAITUM, Sarangani (June 26, 2016) – Rescuers from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), together with Philippine National Police personnel, hustle to rescue “victims” during the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill at Maitum Municipal Hall on June 22. Mayor Pepito Catimbang issued a memo ordering all employees of the Local Government Unit of Maitum to participate in the activity. The drill lasted one and half hours, performing extrication of trapped victims, basic first aid, and search and rescue operation. During the drill, proper execution of duck, cover and hold which is the best overall chance of quick protection from falling debris was also observed. This was extremely important as a part of preparedness plan on how to respond to the complications of an actual earthquake, and evaluate how well parts of emergency plan work together in a locality. MAASIM, Sarangani (June 24, 2016) – Tboli villagers of Sitio Datal Hofo of Barangay Nomoh pose with workers from the provincial government’s Sulong Kapayapaan and Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process-PAMANA during the turn-over ceremony of the Community Peace Center Thursday, June 23.
