ALABEL, Sarangani (August 16, 2016) - Board Member Fulung Fredo Pandian Basino (right), Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IMPR), and Virgilio Clark Tobias (left) hold a joint committee meeting at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall on August 9. Tackled were: 1.) A resolution posthumously commending the exemplary contribution of Bai Helen L. Lumbos, president of Lamlifew Tribal Women’s Association for vigorously promoting the Blaan cultural heritage of Sarangani Province and providing financial incentive to the immediate family as gesture of gratitude and recognition; 2.) An ordinance institutionalizing the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Lamlifew Museum on October 8, 2016 and declaring every October 8 thereafter as the foundation anniversary celebration of the aforementioned museum and providing funds thereof; and 3.) An ordinance declaring every first Monday of the week following the declared EID-UL-ADHA (HARIRAYA HAJI) of 2016 and every year thereafter as the Muslim Holiday celebration in the municipality of Glan, Sarangani Province and appropriating therefore for its yearly celebration. Present during the meeting from Committee on Indigenous Peoples, Cultural Heritage and Muslim Affairs were Board Member Arman Guili, Jess Bascuna and from Committee on Finance, Budgeting Appropriation and Ways and Means Board Members Cornelio C. Martinez, Jr., Hermie C. Galzote and Arman U. Guili. The committees then resolved and came into a recommendation to refer the proposed resolutions to the municipal and barangay level, their comments and opinion be put into resolution as supporting documents and such resolution be converted into ordinance. Students hold culture and arts workshop

Villagers learn first aid basics
