The event was participated in by Local Government Unit employees. The Rural Health Unit (RHU) headed by Dr. Junie Basmillo will conduct a school-based immunization to the public schools. GLAN, Sarangani (August 10, 2016) - Felix Servita of Wild Birds Club of the Philippines briefs the villagers of Sitio Miasong, barangay New Aklan Wednesday, August 10, about the expected arrival of migratory raptors in September. GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 7, 2016) – Under Sulong Sarangani, the disaster management sub-program Sulong Kaligtasan has become a model for other local government units (LGUs) in Region 12’s disaster readiness drive.
Underscoring responsibility and resilience, Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon shared about the province’s programs and projects in addressing disasters and emergencies during the Regional Flood Summit on July 29 at Phela Grande Convention Center.
“The objective of the Flood Summit is to gather and update DRRM managers and key personalities from the local government units and the Regional Risk Reduction Management Council members on the region’s vulnerability to flood hazard versus its capacity and resiliency,” said General Santos City DRRM officer Dr. Agripino Dacera, Jr..
MAITUM, Sarangani (August 7, 2016) - Reidford Notario from KABALIKAT Civicom and a search and rescue team member perform how to do a fireman’s carry during the fire and earthquake drill held at barangay Maguling on August 4. The fireman’s carry or lift was one of the easiest ways to carry an injured person by placing the carried person across the shoulders of the carrier. The drill was conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Kabalikat Civicom. MAITUM, Sarangani (August 7, 2016) – FO2 Oasis Paoyon from the Bureau of Fire Protection gives instructions to the participants during the fire and earthquake drill held at barangay Maguling for elementary and high school students on August 4. Paoyon also demonstrated basic bandaging and transporting of casualties. He gave lessons in precaution and general fire safety. The demonstration equipped the students with awareness in fire prevention and preventing fire in their home.
