Illegal lumber seized in Maitum

MAITUM, Sarangani (August 7, 2016) - Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit (left) leads the confiscation of illegal timber flitches at Barangay Tuanadatu on August 3. The mayor was with Maitum Police Station headed by Rodel Javison, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Jerry Bascuna and a team from Department of Environment and Natural Resources based in Kiamba. The lumber ready for transport were hidden in the bushes at the roadside. Illegal loggers continue to ruin the biodiversity in the barangay but the mayor is determined to stop it. VM Balazon lauds Maitum police

MAITUM, Sarangani (August 2, 2016) - Vice Mayor Tito Balazon Sr. gives a Resolution of Commendation (Res. No. 2016 - 057) to the PNP Maitum for Laudable Performance on Illegal Drug Campaign, "Project Double Barrel", at the Municipal Hall Monday, August 1. “Project Double Barrel" will support the Barangay Drug Clearing strategy of the government to neutralize illegal drug personalities in Maitum. Last month, the Municipal Police Station headed by Police Senior Inspector Rodel Javison, documented some 500 suspected drug users and pushers in the first month of President Duterte's term and a mass oath taking was conducted. Gov. Solon inducts SPEU officers

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 2, 2016) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon administers the oath of office to the new officers of Sarangani Province Employees Union (SPEU) Monday, August 1. They are, from left, president Wilson Lapiz; Nemrad Paul Butil, VP for administration; vice president for operations Gerald Faciol; and the rest are treasurer Amelia Catolico; director Cornelio Ramirez; Alma Corazon Gabuat, secretary; Jane Pascua, assistant secretary; Baby Mae Butohan, assistant treasurer; Mercedita Flores, auditor; and members of the board of directors Noemi Payla, Carlito Rosal, Joji Eunice Lasalita and Edmund Dedal. The SPEU provides hospitalization coverage of P100,000 per illness per year to its members in a contract forged by former SPEU president Bobby Sayaang with Maxicare. Union members also receive a cash incentive of P25,000 each and a P2,000 birthday gift as part of the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA). Under the CNA, SPEU members would enjoy additional 10 days leave for union-related transactions. Moreover, those retiring from service are afforded with “pabaon” cash incentive of P133,000 for SPEU members of 12 years or more. A minimum of P33,250 are received by retirees with three-year membership. The Public Sector Employees Alliance of Socsksargen provides additional mortuary benefit on top of the P66,500 each mortuary fund coming from SPEU members’ contributions.
