Philippine Eagle Maitum’s new draw

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 25, 20167) – Joemarie Lanutan, Philippine Eagle Foundation education officer, orients students from the Malalag Central Elementary School about the Philippine Eagle, its importance to the community and environment. The Philippine Eagle Center and Philippine Eagle Foundation are conducting orientation, information, and education dissemination about the importance of the Philippine Eagle from January 23 to January 28 during the stretch of the Bangsi Festival celebration. The rescue on January 4 of a juvenile Philippine Eagle named Sarangani Pride triggered the IEC activity in Maitum to inform the community about the presence of the national bird in the forests Maitum. A composite team from the LGU Maitum, the Philippine Eagle Center, DENR CENRO, Sarangani Information Office and the BLGU Batian, is now in Barangay Batian and Barangay Upo since January 21 to conduct IEC in the area. Tourists arrive for Bangsi Festival

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 25, 2017) - Arlex Narte, tourism in-charge of LGU Maitum, briefs Dr. Mareh Gahlke and Dr. Sidney Eickermann, both from Kier, Germany, who are spending a few days in Maitum to witness the celebration of the Bangsi Festival. MALITA, Davao Occidental (January 24, 2017) – Sarangani Vice Governor Elmer de Peralta hands over the resolution of commendation from the Provincial Government of Sarangani to Lt. Col. Felix Ronnie B. Babac, outgoing commander of 73rd Infantry (Neutralizer) Battalion, Philippine Army, during the Turn-over of Command on January 19. Road concreting in Malungon by BUB-LGU
