Socoteco director sheds light on blackout

KIAMBA, Sarangani (March 14, 2017) – Socoteco Director Marie Jess M. Ancheta addresses municipal employees about the recent energy outage caused by strong winds and rain. Ancheta said the outage was due to the breakdown of the 5MVA transformer of the Socoteco 2 sub-station. Ancheta said the transformer has been replaced and that power has already been reestablished in the town site. Although the Socoteco executive informed the LGU that electricity should be uninterrupted from now on, there might still be unforeseen interruption/s while the new transformer is still under observation. Alvarez carries with him a bag that contains a laptop, a TV set, a tablet, solar panel with inverter, a pocket wifi and a hard drive that contains learning activity sheet from Smart Communications which he and his co-teachers will use in teaching their students in C'Maguing IP School. From the Office of the President, Proclamation No. 126 on January 6, 2017 upon the recommendation of the NCCA pursuant to RA 7355 which provides for the recognition of National Living Treasures, President Rodrigo Duterte declared Bantilan, 75, as Manlilikha Ng Bayan for 2016. Blaan mat weaver declared national artist

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (March 9, 2017) - Barangay Chairman Moner Calulong and his councilors acknowledge the appearance of Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) national artist on mat weaving Bae Estelita Tumandan Bantilan (in tribal dress, center), from Sitio Upper Lasang, during a courtesy call and orientation in the regular session of the Sangguniang Pambarangay on March 1 at Barangay Sapu Masla. Along with them were the representatives from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Reden Ulo and Maribeth Bantilan Farnazo of the Provincial IMPR office who nominated her to the NCCA. IPs perform at ground breaking rites

Project connects seaside villages

KIAMBA, Sarangani (March 9, 2017) – This is the ground breaking ceremony of the double barrel reinforced concrete box culvert in Barangay Lomuyon on March 8. This project is a joint effort between the Lomuyon Barangay Council, BSPMC, and Kalahi-CIDSS. Present in the ceremony were members of Lomuyon Barangay Council and BSPMC.
