Survey begins in Kiamba

KIAMBA, Sarangani (March 9, 2017) - The Community-Based Monitoring System program kicks off March 3 in a joint effort between the Department of Interior and Local Government and CBMS team. This initiative aims to survey for poverty diagnosis, disaster risk reduction management and climate change adaptation, and for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals. The CBMS is an organized process for data collection, processing, validation and use of data for various development processes. The CBMS team will make their rounds throughout the different barangays to do their data gathering and to implement their development plans based on the data they collect. Welding training in Maitum

MAITUM, Sarangani (March 9, 2017) - Students for Skills Training on Welding perform the basics of welding at the Municipal Gymnasium on March 7. The qualified beneficiaries of this project are out-school-youth, 4Ps and family heads who will undergo 30 days of training until they meet the objectives of the project. Fun run for fire safety and prevention

Women learn fishnet-making

MAITUM, Sarangani (March 7, 2017) – Women participate in a 30-day training on fishnet/pokut making held at the Municipal Gymnasium beginning March 6. The program is funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development regional office in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority through the Local Government Unit of Maitum. ALABEL, Sarangani (March 7, 2017) – Officials broke ground on Friday (March 3) for the three-storey Sarangani legislative building to be built at the Capitol grounds.

This came shortly after the Department of Public Works and Highways awarded the P10-million budget last week to the winning bidder to set off the construction.

Vice Governor Elmer de Peralta said the provincial government has a counterpart of P10 million.

Sarangani Lone District Rep. Ruel Pacquiao also committed P20 million while Senator Manny Pacquiao has reportedly vouched to fund around P30 million for the project.

BM Yap leads Women’s Month celebration
