BM Guili thanks DA Region 12

Sarangani gets veggie seeds from DA

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 11, 2017) – Sarangani Province receives some P358,096 worth of assorted vegetable seeds from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 12 on Tuesday, April 11. The bulk of planting materials comes in 4,100 packs of Chopsuey, Sinigang and Panakbet seeds which DA Regional Executive Director Milagros C. Casis turned over as support to the food security program of the national government. Casis said this is the DA’s response to President Duterte’s challenge to “provide available and affordable food to every Filipino.” The seeds would soon be distributed to Sarangani’s seven municipalities as intervention under its Sulong Kasaganaan Program. Incentives for ZOD barangays

MAITUM, Sarangani (April 11, 2017) - Vice Governor Elmer de Peralta says incentives will be given to every barangay that will participate in the program in recognition to their efforts in the implementation of Zero Open Defecation program. The vice governor spoke during the turnover ceremony of 100 bags of cement on April 10. The ZOD program was spearheaded by former Vice Governor Jinkee J. Pacquiao together with JinkeeNation in partnership with the provincial government. It aims to eliminate serious health problem by providing each household a toilet. (John James I. Symposium on anti-drug abuse campaign

KIAMBA, Sarangani (April 11, 2017) - The Department of Health hosts a symposium April 10 about the municipal anti-drug abuse campaign with Mayor Raul C. Martinez who addressed the participants from different LGU agencies, police, barangay captains and municipal councilors. The seminar was then turned over to DOH Region 12 non-communicable disease cluster head Dr. Adimelca Gangoso who talked about the drug abuse situation of the country. Dr. Gangoso asked for the cooperation of government agencies and the community to help treat and rehabilitate drug users who surrendered and make this nationwide effort a success. IPRA Law explained

KIAMBA, Sarangani (April 11, 2017) – Board Member Fulung Fredo P. Basino, Provincial Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative, lectures about Republic Act 8371 known as Indigenous Peoples Right Act (IPRA) Law and on cultural sensitivity during the Municipal Women’s Congress 2017 at the Kiamba Civic Center on April 10 with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women”. IPMR Basino emphasized the important rights of the indigenous women as stipulated in the IPRA Law especially their cultures and traditions but he warned them not to adopt the early marriage traditions among the IPs. MHO, LGBT community hold AIDS forum

Rescue volunteers trained
