MAASIM, Sarangani (May 28, 2017) - Film-maker and cinematographer Willie Apa takes delight in capturing a likely 100-kilogram king grouper (Kugtong) which was released among other four spawners donated by Finfish Hatcheries Inc. (FHI) into Sarangani Bay, highlighting the annual Ocean Month celebration on Friday, May 26, at the jetty of Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) in barangay Kamanga. FHI and SEC are sister-companies under the Alcantara Group. SEC’s jetty is situated just a stone-throw away from Kamanga Marine Protected Area (MPA) which was adjudged in 2015 as one of the five best managed MPA’s in the country. Kid takes Operation Smile surgery

SGLG evaluators in Kiamba

KIAMBA, Sarangani (May 26, 2017) - Representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government conduct a Seal of Good Local Governance evaluation on May 23. The team inspected the LGU’s recent reports to assess the overall efficiency of the different LGU departments. The team also physically inspected every aspect of the Municipal Complex, which includes the employees’ uniforms and identification, the offices’ cleanliness, waste management and overall visibility. TESDA trains new skilled workers

MAITUM, Sarangani (May 26, 2017) - Acting Municipal Mayor Tito Balazon (center) and Nelia Quimsing (right), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, award a certificate of completion to one of the graduates during the graduation ceremony of Technical Vocational Courses on May 17. Each vocational course consists of 50 trainees who successfully completed the 30 days training in fishnet making, shield metal arc welding and rough and finished carpentry. The graduates are now holders of National Certificate (NCII). The program aims to help them in their employment opportunities and to develop home-based micro enterprise.
