MALAPATAN, Sarangani (June 23, 2017) - Bae Estelita Tumandan Bantilan receives the commendation of Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) or the National Living Treasures Award during the celebration of the 48th Foundation Anniversary and the 12th Pakaradyan Festival of the municipality of Malapatan on June 21. Bantilan is from Sitio Upper Lasang of Malapatan, a traditional artist on mat weaving recognized last January 6, 2017 by the Office of the President under Proclamation No. 126 upon the recommendation of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts pursuant to Republic Act 7355. Cooperation can stop terrorism

MAASIM, Sarangani (June 21, 2017) - At 3:00 o’clock in the morning Monday (June 19), Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) opened the gates of its jetty area at Barangay Kamanga to blast-off at least 30 local fishermen participating in the 1st Fishing Tournament in the municipality.

The tournament was a highlight of Maasim’s 40th founding anniversary celebration and 10th Kestebeng Festival, with this year’s theme: “Peace and Prosperity Manifested through Festivity and Cooperation.”

Beating the 2:00 P.M-deadline, the duo of Edwin and Richard Cereṅo had arrived, checking-in a 38-kilogram skipjack tuna. It was declared the biggest catch of the tournament.
