PHO bares illegal drug effects

MALUNGON, Sarangani (June 6, 2017) - Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro responds to questions raised from the floor regarding the side effect of illegal drugs during the Anti Illegal Drugs Summit at the Municipal Gymnasium on June 2. Malungon holds Anti Illegal Drugs Summit

MALUNGON, Sarangani (June 6, 2017) – Some 1,500 delegates coming from different sectors in the 31 barangays of Malungon attend the Anti Illegal Drugs Summit on June 2 at the Municipal Gymnasium. Fifty participants per barangay headed by their barangay chairmen united to fight illegal drugs through holistic approach initiated by Mayor Atty. Maria Theresa D. Constantino aimed at making Malungon the first drug free town in Region 12. Task Force Duterte chaired by former Mayor Reynaldo F. Sulong Sarangani in Kiamba

KIAMBA, Sarangani (June 6, 2017) - The Sulong Sarangani team visits Kiamba on June 1 to report on the recent achievements of the Sulong Sarangani Program. PIDs get birth certificates

PIDs in Glan over 2,400

GLAN, Sarangani (June 6, 2017) – Some 108 Persons of Indonesian Descent (PIDs) residing in Glan for several years wait for their turn to receive their birth certificates in ceremonies at Glan Municipal Hall on May 30 under the auspices of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). By receiving their free birth certificates and having their citizenships confirmed by representatives from the Governments of the Philippines and Indonesia, the PIDs will finally be able to enjoy the full extent of their rights. 108 PIDs get birth certificates

GLAN, Sarangani (June 6, 2017) – Some 108 Persons of Indonesian Descent (PIDs) living in Glan for several years have received their birth certificates, resolving the issue of their statelessness.

Atty. Ruben Fondevilla, Department of Justice Assistant Chief State Counsel, said this UNHCR programme is an offshoot of the joint committee on bilateral cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia wherein ministers of these countries believed the “importance of determining the legal status of the Indonesian descendants in Southern Philippines with the view of providing them better legal protection.”
