SAVER Team bags most proficient title

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 16, 2017) - Sarangani Auxiliary Volunteers for Emergency Response (SAVER) is hailed as the Most Proficient Team during the awarding ceremony on August 10 for the Regional Gawad Kalasag Search for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance. Speed limit enforced in Kiamba

KIAMBA, Sarangani (August 16, 2017) - Representatives from the Land Transportation Office visit Kiamba on August 14 to witness and accredit the deputation of selected LGU employees, PNP and KARANCHO group for the implementation of the School Zone Speed Limit Municipal Ordinance. The oath taking was led by Mayor Raul Martinez in response to Municipal Ordinance No. 2016-002, which states that a speed limit shall be imposed on all motorized vehicles within the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Kiamba providing penalties for violations. Release of pawikan hatchlings

MAITUM, Sarangani (August 11, 2017) - With the theme "Ensuring the Gains of Electrification Through Enlightened Member-Consumer,-Owner", the 8th National Electrification Awareness Month kicks off by releasing 158 pawikan hatchlings at Barangay Old Poblacion on August 9. The event was participated in by personnel of SOCOTECO II main office, Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum. As a part of their celebration, they also donated P15,000 through the initiative of the Tourism Section of the Local Government Unit of Maitum for 1 unit tub to be installed at the said area. Tree planting at Maitum dumpsite

Midwife is Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. awardee

“Kagwang” rescued

MAITUM, Sarangani (August 11, 2017) - Regie Batiller (not in the picture), a resident of Barangay Mabay, rescued this Philippine Flying Lemur or locally known as "kagwang" at Sitio Kitae, Barangay Tuanadatu on August 8. The female Philippine Flying Lemur had two bullet wounds in her legs and given first aid treatment by injecting multi vitamins and spraying antibiotics on her swollen wounds conducted by Toto Delcano of the Office of Municipal Agriculturist. The lemur will be referred to the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Office for further examination and observation before releasing her back to her natural habitat. (John James I.
