Tree planting at Maitum dumpsite

“Kagwang” rescued

MAITUM, Sarangani (August 11, 2017) - Regie Batiller (not in the picture), a resident of Barangay Mabay, rescued this Philippine Flying Lemur or locally known as "kagwang" at Sitio Kitae, Barangay Tuanadatu on August 8. The female Philippine Flying Lemur had two bullet wounds in her legs and given first aid treatment by injecting multi vitamins and spraying antibiotics on her swollen wounds conducted by Toto Delcano of the Office of Municipal Agriculturist. The lemur will be referred to the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Office for further examination and observation before releasing her back to her natural habitat. (John James I. Flalok project extended

Former rebels get CLIP aid

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 7, 2017) - Mayor Vic Paul Salarda (extreme left) of Alabel is assisted by (from left) Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Manuelo Mangalon; Lt. Col. Marlon Ancao, battalion commander of 73rd Infantry Battalion; DILG provincial director Flor Limpin and Raquel Panal, provincial social welfare and development officer, in handing over monetary assistance to one of 16 former rebels from the municipality of Alabel. The Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) of the provincial government held a healing and reconciliation session on July 12-14 where five former rebels received P65,000 each from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and nine former rebels also received P10,000 each from the local government units as counterpart.
