1st 50 ZOD barangays get cash award

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (July 19, 2018) – Some barangay captains from the first 50 barangays in Sarangani out of the 70 certified Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) barangays and now have access to safe toilets receive P50,000 each for the improvement of health system in their area. The awarding ceremony was held at Eulogia Hotel and Resort on July 18 during the 1st Provincial Nutrition, Health and Sanitation Summit of the province’s 141 barangays. The ZOD program was initiated by former Vice Governor Jinkee J. Pacquiao under her JinkeeNation program. It aims to eliminate serious health problems by providing each household a toilet and to put a stop to the unhealthy practice of open defecation.
