GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 1, 2016) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon delivers his keynote speech during the Regional Flood Summit on July 29 with the theme "Kahandaan at Pagtugon sa Sakuna, Tungkulin ng Bawat Isa". Gov. Solon was chosen to be the summit's keynote speaker considering Sarangani for having an outstanding disaster preparedness and response plan through the Sulong Sarangani - Sulong Kaligtasan flagship program. Sarangani also implements Sarangani Rescue 117 (SAR117), Global Positioning Tracking System to all government units for fast disaster response and the integration of the Geo Hazard Mapping with its Community-Based Monitoring System. Sarangani has been an awardee of the Gawad Kalasag Best Prepared Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council regional level for two years in a row. DRRMOs, line agencies hold flood summit

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 1, 2016) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (left) and Office of Civil Defense Region 12 Director Minda Morante launch the Regional Flood Summit on July 29 with the theme "Kahandaan at Pagtugon sa Sakuna, Tungkulin ng Bawat Isa". The summit was attended by representatives from the different barangay, municipal, city and provincial disaster and risk reduction management offices (DRRMO) of Region 12; Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration; National Economic and Development Authority; Department of Science and Technology; and the Department of Social Welfare and Development. MAITUM, Sarangani (July 30, 2016) – Some 250 tricycle, sikad and habal-habal drivers gather at the Municipal Gymnasium on July 28 as Mayor Alexander B. Reganit explains the approved Municipal Ordinance (No. 2010-007) -- an ordinance regulating and franchising the operation of motorized tricycles in the Municipality of Maitum -- dubbed as "Maitum Tricycle Ordinance of 2010". The mayor also tackled the existing problems of the drivers and the possible solutions. Mayor Reganit asked owners of colurum motorcycles and unregistered drivers to submit pertinent papers for application of license and registration. Mayor Reganit supports health programs

MAITUM, Sarangani (July 30, 2016) - Ruben R. Balanag, private consultant of Mayor Alexander Bryan B. Reganit, delivers the mayor's speech during the Nutrition Month Culmination at the Municipal Gym on July 25. Mayor Reganit acknowledged and appreciated a mother’s important role in the life of a child. He recognized the efforts of the Rural Health Unit Office under Dr. Junie Basmillo for preventing maternal deaths and sustaining the needs of pregnant women. Nutrition quiz show winner awarded

MAITUM, Sarangani (July 28, 2016) - Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Ildefonso Bergis awards a plaque of recognition to Sherlyn Mae Calipayan (center), quiz show champion from Malalag National High School Upo Campus, together with her coach Gayzel Pingkian (left) during the Nutrition Month Culmination held at the Municipal Gymnasium on July 25. The secondary quiz show was participated in by six schools -- Edenton Mission College Incorporated High School, Malalag National High School and Upo Campus, Maguling National High School, Notre Dame of Maitum and Wali Integrated School. Maitum commends police

MAITUM, Sarangani (July 29, 2016) - Police Senior Inspector Rodel Javison (left), police chief of Maitum, receives the Resolution Commending the Philippine National Police of Maitum on July 25 from Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit (center) and Vice Mayor Tito Balazon Sr. (right). The PNP Maitum has arrested a suspected drug personality through buy-bust operation on July 1 at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Pangi recovering several sachets of suspected illegal drugs for sale, shabu paraphernalia, a motor cycle and marked money. This is in line with the ongoing nationwide campaign of the new administration to stop the illegal drug trade, arrest pushers and users, and to prevent the country from turning into a narcotic state.
