Hundreds join dance workshop

MAITUM, Sarangani (July 27, 2017) - Over 300 elementary and high school students, teachers and dance teachers and choreographers join the National Folk Dance Re-Echo Workshop held at Malalag National High School on July 22. The two day workshop was participated in by different schools in Maitum, Kiamba and Maasim (MAKIMA) and Palimbang Sultan Kudarat. There were orientation and demonstration of different cultural dances. The Philippine Folk Dance Society (PFDS) Sarangayaw Sarangani Chapter in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Maitum sponsored the workshop where participants learned different dances such as Pangalay, La Jota Yogad, Bulakenya, Bakya, Kuradang and Haplik. KIAMBA, Sarangani (July 27, 2017) - Municipal health workers administer general checkup for undernourished children on July 25 at the Municipal Health Office. This is part of the 48th Nutrition Month celebration with the theme "Healthy Diet Gawing Habit for LIFE" aimed at providing health options for malnourished children. Among the procedures given were general, physical and dental checkup; administration of fluoride tooth paste, and provision of multi-vitamins for the kids. Kids get quality dental health care

LGU Maitum gives radios for emergency

DAVAO CITY (July 21, 2017) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and Sarangani SAAD Project Coordinator Agnes Du update Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel "Manny" Piñol on the efforts of the Provincial Government of Sarangani in implementing SAAD Projects during the 1st Socsksargen Area Development Project Board Meeting on July 14. Sec. Piñol commended the PLGU's efficient performance in implementing SAAD projects, particularly its upland rice development. Sec. IBDF president rewarded

ALABEL, Sarangani (July 21, 2017) – Reynaldo Famindalan, IBDF president of Barangay Patag, Malapatan, humbles himself as Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon congratulates and rewards him for a good deed. Famindalan, a farmer, is the father of the lady who found the lost wallet of Rosanna Selorio, teacher of Colon National High School in Maasim. The pouch containing cash, ATM and GSIS card was inadvertently left at the bus terminal in Koronadal City on July 17. The reward of cash from the governor is a gesture of gratitude. On many instances, the Integrated Barangay Defense and Development Force (IBDF) under Sulong Kaligtasan program is tested to be of community service not only for community defense and disaster responses.
