MAASIM, Sarangani (May 28, 2017) - Sarangani Bay is now the new home of five “giant lapu-lapu” spawners donated by the Finfish Hatcheries Inc. (FHI) of the Alsons Agribusiness Unit, highlighting the annual Ocean Month celebration on Friday, May 26, at the jetty of Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) in barangay Kamanga. FHI and SEC are sister-companies under the Alcantara Group. The five king groupers locally known as lapu-lapu were were released into Sarangani Bay to help replenish the grouper population in the area. SEC’s jetty is situated just a stone-throw away from Kamanga Marine Protected Area (MPA) which was adjudged in 2015 as one of the five best managed MPA’s in the country.
