GENERAL SANTOS CITY (June 30, 2016) - Zuellig Family Foundation president Professor Ernesto Garilao graces Sarangani's 1st Indigenous Peoples (IP) Health Summit Tuesday, June 28. In his speech, Garilao revealed that annual deaths in the Philippines are estimated to be at 3,000 which are reportedly usually coming from the "IP sector who by and large ay malayo and may kahirapan." This IP Maternal in Newborn Care Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) program launched in Sarangani, according to him, is being crafted to "further avoid deaths." He added the Department of Health can make Sarangani a pilot province to be replicated in other communities in the country. (Jake Narte /SARANGANI INFORMATION OFFICE)
