ALABEL, Sarangani (April 26, 2016) - Sarangani has mainstreamed disaster risk reduction management and climate change adaptation to its provincial development and physical framework plan.
This is to reduce vulnerability of the constituents against calamities and to strengthen disaster resiliency, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) said.
Accordingly, 36 disaster-prone barangays in the province already benefited from the convergence program.
The areas of prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, emergency response, rehabilitation and recovery have been considered in the mainstreaming.
MAITUM, Sarangani (April 26, 2016) - Son's of - rice farmers, fisher folk, a terminal dispatcher, a barangay councilor, a welder – will represent the Philippines at the Asia Pacific Little League Baseball Championships this July 2016, to be held in Pampanga!
They will be slugging their bats against China, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Northern Marianas Islands, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. The Taiwanese have won eight championships in the last 10 years; while the Philippines has always been represented by teams coming from the National Capital Region.
This time, the Philippines will be represented by a team of kids from Sarangani, South Cotabato and Cotabato Province.

Cerebral Palsy is a permanent physical disability caused by brain disorders that appear in infancy or early childhood and affect body movement, muscle coordination, and balance. Though incurable, treatment like physical therapy will often improve a child's capabilities.

Sarangani, throughout the years, has been a champion in providing opportunities and interventions in education.
One of the local government’s initiatives in providing quality education among Sarangans is consorting with technical institutions such as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Phil-Nippon Technical College (PNTC) through its education pillar, Sulong Karunungan Project.
“Through PNTC, some are able to send their siblings to school, some have bought lands and built their own homes and others are able to pay hospital bills for their sick parents,” said Leah Rosauro of Sulong Karunungan Project.
