PESO is a non-fee charging multi-employment service facility or entity to carry out full employment and equality of employment opportunities for all, and for this purpose, to strengthen and expand the existing employment facilitation service machinery of the government. PESO is to ensure the prompt, timely and efficient delivery of employment service and provision of information on the other DOLE programs.
Glenda Revaño, designated PESO manager in Sarangani, also acknowledged the Department of Public Works and Highways district for “being cooperative in submitting placement report per month, which is also reported in DOLE and BLE (Bureau of Local Employment). The data will also form part of the President sa kanyang mga SONA, sa kanyang placement report ng bawat LGU.”
The five DOLE programs implemented by LGU Sarangani are: (1) Referral of placement for local and overseas agencies and walk-in seekers. (2) The summer job program. (3) Speaking engagements on career-coaching and anti-illegal recruitment campaigns cum human trafficking to intensify the interventions for secondary schools. (4) Livelihood programs for 2018 with a budget of 4.1 million pesos from DOLE, which is still on procurement process. The beneficiaries for this are the marginalized sectors that the LGU Sarangani wanted to help. (5) All the undertakings relative to employment facilitation.
Through the support of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Senator Manny Pacquiao, Cong. Ruel Pacquiao, and board members, PESO Sarangani Province had achieved the awards, and still making actions to attain these. Hence, now employed Sarangans are on their way to help the betterment of Sarangani Province. (Donna Mahusay/SARANGANI COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE)
