Provido explained “Non-PRDP projects are investments from sources constituted with our partnering government and private agencies as well as other foreign donors.”
Engr. Alain Alcala, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC), said that Sarangani under the leadership of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon is really doing its best for its people and “does not limit the billions of funds from PRDP to be used in developing priority commodities in the province.”
“Since Sarangani is really a good spot for prime investments and developments,” Alcala stated, “support from other agencies are coming in and collaborates with Sarangani to transform and better the lives of every Sarangan.”
According to Alcala, some of the agencies that support Sarangani as development partners are the Departments of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform, Interior and Local Government, Public Works and Highways, Tourism, Budget and Management, Trade and Industry, and Environment and Natural Resources.
Every LGU has champion commodities being developed to make an impact on the livelihood of the community. In Sarangani, the prime commodities based on its Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) were identified as abaca, coconut, cacao, coffee, banana, mango, herbs and spices, livestock, vegetables, upland rice, and fishery.
Zaldy Boloron, DA 12-Field Operations Division Chief, said “one of the reasons why Sarangani is part of the top 10 LGUs for the award ay dahil Sarangani is really a best performing province when it comes to agricultural development.”
“Hindi maipagkakaila why Sarangani was also the pilot province for the DA’s PAFES program in Region 12, and these blessings are all because of the leadership of all the provincial officials headed by Governor Steve Solon who’s really God-centered and pro-people,” he added.
During the ceremony, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta received the recognition together with Board Members Rosemarie Sayo, George Falgui, and Jess Bascuña, PPDC Alcala and Provincial Agriculturist Jonathan Duhaylungsod.(Joshua John Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
