ALABEL, Sarangani (September 30, 2021) – Sarangani has obtained additional personal protective equipment (PPEs) for its medical frontliners from the RD Foundation Inc. in partnership with the Rotary World Help of Canada.
Charisse Lynn Alquiza, provincial health office supply officer, received a total of 4,000 surgical masks, 1,500 pairs of examination gloves, 500 pieces of N95 masks, 500 pieces of face shields, 500 pieces of hand sanitizers, and 500 pieces of coverall suits during the ceremonial turnover on September 28 at the Provincial Health Office and Provincial Department of Health Office (PHO-PDOHO) building.
The PPEs will be used by the medical frontliners in the province particularly those who are handling Covid-19 cases.
Alquiza said the additional medical supply is a “great help” to all the "frontliners" in performing duties especially now that there is a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the province.
“Napakalaking bagay talaga nitong additional PPEs na na-receive natin para matulungan at mapagaan yung trabaho ng ating mga frontliners especially those who are assigned to attend Covid-19 patients,” Alquiza added.
The PPEs were handed over by representative of RD Foundation headed by executive director Ryan Vidanes.
The turned over PPEs were made possible with the help of the Rotary World Club of Canada which has been a long-time partner of the RD Foundation in donating medical equipment and supplies to its identified beneficiaries especially this time of the pandemic.
During the onset of the Covid-19, RD Foundation was also among the first to respond and extend assistance to Sarangani.
According to Vidanes, the PPEs are all from Canada, “so in terms of the quality ng mga donations natin, we have the guarantee.”
“We believe na napapahalagahan itong ating ibinibigay na assistance especially this time of the pandemic lalo na at we are on the second year na and depleted na yung resources ng ating government,” said Vidanes.
Through the collaboration of the private organizations and the government, Vidanes further said “the sense of protection will be carried on and this will help our frontliners to alleviate yung hirap na pinagdadaanan nila.”
“We believe that the partnership that we have established with the Local Government of Sarangani will go a long way and will continue for the sake of our constituents,” Vidanes said. (Jake Narte-Joshua John S. Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
