Gov. Solon recalls Amsipit road agony

MAASIM, Sarangani (November 11, 2021) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon recalls the struggles and agony of reaching Barangay Amsipit during the years when the roads were not yet paved. In his talk on November 8, during the dedication and ceremonial inauguration of the National Highway Junction Malbang-boundary T’boli provincial road (Phase I and II), Kyumad bridge, and Amsipit multi-purpose building, the governor commended the efforts of the Provincial Engineering Office, headed by Engr. Jerry Belbider, for ensuring efficient implementation of the road projects wherein nearby communities could feel the impact of a paved road. Solon also reminded the residents of Amsipit to still follow the Covid-19 precautionary measures even if “ang Sarangani ang may pinakamababang active cases in Region 12.” He further encouraged the people to get their vaccines and enlightened them with information about the benefits of being fully vaccinated. MAASIM, Sarangani (November 11, 2021) – Sarangani provincial and Maasim municipal officials together with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG XII) Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa and Provincial Director Engr. Samuel Camaganacan lead the ceremonial ribbon cutting rites of Kyumad Bridge on November 8. The P36-Million bridge was funded through the 20% development fund from the 2019 Annual Investment Program (AIP). Apart from the Kyumad bridge, the National Highway Junction Malbang-boundary T’boli provincial road (Phase I and II) which cost P80M and P90M, respectively and the P3M Amsipit multi-purpose building were also inaugurated. Leysa admired how the road projects in Maasim were accomplished. “Ang ganda ng daan ninyo at talagang maayos ang pagkaka-implement ng project dito sa Maasim,” said Leysa. “This is a true manifestation that you’re really deserving of the award as the best implementer of the road projects nationwide,” she added. MAASIM, Sarangani (November 11, 2021) – Dr. Ma. Ellaine G. Merced (right), optometrist of Merced Optical Clinic, conducts a free eye checkup to Barangay Amsipit Tribal Chieftain Ruben Isla on November 8 during the Serbisyong Sarangan Community Outreach Program dubbed as “Better Vision-Eyecare Services” at Amsipit covered court. The beneficiaries of the free eye checkup were the Kaalaman para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran (3K) Project beneficiaries and some identified senior citizens in the barangay. Aside from the free eye checkup, patients also get free reading glasses appropriate to their vision as prescribed by Dr. Merced. Infrastructure projects boon to every Sarangan

MAASIM, Sarangani (November 11, 2021) – (From right) Amsipit Barangay Captain Helario Kaka, Provincial Engineer Jerry Belbider, Mayor Zyrex Pacquiao, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Mayor Visitacion Nambatac, and Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta lead the ceremonial ribbon cutting rites of the Amsipit multi-purpose building on November 8. In an interview, Captain Kaka described the way of life in Amsipit way back when the roads were not yet paved. “Lahi ra gyud kaayo karon kay sa una sa panahon sa ting-ulan maglisod gyud ang mga tao mubaba sa munisipyo kay tungod sa kapangit sa dalan,” said Kaka. “Pag mag-ulan, grabe ang lapok halos di na mutuyok ang ligid sa motor maskin pa ang kabayo maglisod. Pero sa karon, tawhay na kaayo ang sistema sa among transportasyon,” he added. From the usual four hours of traversing the bumpy roads before, Kaka said “tungod sa dalan nga gihatag sa amo sa gobyerno, di na kaabot og oras maka-abot na mi diri sa among barangay gikan sa highway.” The infrastructure projects in Sarangani continues to better the lives of every Sarangan through Governor Solon’s Sulong Imprastraktura initiative with the support of Deputy Speaker Congressman Rogelio Pacquiao, Vice Governor De Peralta, Senator Manny Pacquiao, and all the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. Phase I of the road project has a total length of 5.4kms with reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markers; (3,198.g lm. m.) concrete-lined canal; three units of box culvert; (437 ln. m.) metal guardrails; (3.2287) concrete shoulder; 99 pieces of warning/regulatory signs; and hazard markers; and (167 ln. m.) reinforced concrete pipe culverts. On the other hand, the Phase II road with a total of 4.49kms was constructed with reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markers; (3,579.6 ln. m.) concrete-lined canal; one unit of box culvert; (2,018.6 ln. m.) metal guardrails; (3,228.7 ln. m.) concrete shoulder; and 79 warning/regulatory signs and hazard markers. MAASIM, Sarangani (November 11, 2021) - Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG XII) Regional Director Josephine Cabrido-Leysa commends the efforts of all provincial officials under the leadership of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon for “bringing another milestone that will benefit the far-flung communities” of Sarangani in an inauguration activity on November 8. Under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP), Leysa said that since 2016 up until 2020 “meron na po tayong naibigay na P625 million intended for the road projects of Sarangani.” She said, “from the 13% accomplishment of the provincial roads in 2016, umabot na sa 70% ng roads ang naayos in 2020.” “Kahit ano pa kaganda ng produkto mo kung hindi maayos ang daan, for our farmers it is still a failure. It means a lot kapag ‘yung accessibility natin sa market ay talagang maayos,” said Leysa. In 2020, Sarangani was among the top performers in rural road-building in the implementation of the CMGP program in the entire country. MAASIM, Sarangani (November 11, 2021) – “Padayon ta sa pagtinabangay para makab-ot nato ang tinud-anay nga pag-asenso,” Mayor Zyrex Pacquiao urges his townsfolk during the dedication and ceremonial inauguration of the National Highway Junction Malbang-boundary T’boli provincial road (Phase I and II), Kyumad bridge, and Amsipit multi-purpose building at Barangay Amsipit covered court on November 8. The mayor also encouraged the people to make use of all the blessings being given to their municipality. The P209M project includes the concreting of Phase I of the National Highway Junction Malbang-boundary T’boli provincial road worth P80 million, its P90-million worth Phase II, the P3 million worth Amsipit multi-purpose building, and the P36-million Kyumad bridge. These projects are part of the national government’s implementation of the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) Program in the province and the 20% development fund from the 2019 Annual Investment Program (AIP) of the provincial government. CMGP aims to improve the state of core provincial roads in the country by strengthening the capacity and performance of the provincial governments in the Local Road Management and other relevant areas of Public Financial Management. It contributes to the realization of Ambisyon Natin 2040 and the Build, Build, Build Program of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte by enhancing the national-local roads connectivity and accessibility to social services and economic opportunities, and to support the sustained inclusive socio-economic progress in the country. GENERAL SANTOS CITY (November 9, 2021) – Sarangani Halal Agri-Fishery Council (SHAFC) president Ruby Kanda expresses gratitude to all Sarangani provincial officials for the strong and full support in realizing the council’s goals. Also discussed during the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-installed officers of SHAFC on October 28, was the halal protocols and standards as well as the strengthening of the advocacy and implementation of halal in the Sarangani. “We have seen the importance of promoting and developing the halal industry here in Sarangani that is why, we have decided na maglagay ng officers for us to know kung ano ‘yung nangyayari sa communities,” said Kanda. “Start small,” Solon says

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (November 9, 2021) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (on screen) officiates the oath-taking of the newly-installed officers of the Sarangani Halal Agri-Fishery Council (SHAFC) for districts one and two on October 28. In his talk, Solon shared some of his insights on how to run a business. “Maganda na malaki ang vision natin about this endeavor pero dapat mag-umpisa tayo sa maliit para ma-control natin ang magandang sistema. And, if we are able to achieve this, pwede na nating palakihan at palakihan,” Solon said. The good governor also gave SHAFC P50,000 assistance. Gov. Solon welcomes PNP-MG Brig. Gen. Jamili

ALABEL, Sarangani (November 9, 2021) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon welcomes Philippine National Police-Maritime Group (PNP-MG) Brig. Gen.
