Mahinay brothers from Mabay win Lumba Bugsay

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 27, 2022) – Noel Mahinay and Michael Mahinay from Barangay Mabay win the Lumba Bugsay competition on January 26 during the opening ceremony of the 15th Bangsi Festival. The event was held at Barangay Kiambing attended by locals who enjoyed the different in-land and water sports activities such as the bancarera contest, tura-tura boat contest, pakas preparation and the opening of the Wow Maitum photography contest. Despite the pandemic, the organizers with the supervision of Mayor Bryan Reganit, and with the support of Vice Mayor Tito Balazon and the rest of the Sangguniang Bayan members made sure that the minimum health standards were observed. Fishing gears delivered during Bangsi Festival

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 27, 2022) – Some local fisherfolk of the coastal barangays in Maitum received fishing equipment from the provincial government of Sarangani on January 26 during the opening ceremony of the 15th Bangsi Festival at Pawikan Nursery, Barangay Kiambing. The equipment turned over to 60 beneficiaries consist of 20 tuna handlines and 40 squid jiggers. Davao boatman wins tura-tura contest

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 27, 2022) – Renemer Geonzon, 30, from Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental, bags 1st prize in the Tura-tura Boat Contest on January 26 at Pawikan Nursery, Barangay Kiambing. The tura-tura competition is one of the events in the opening ceremony of the 15th Bangsi Festival in Maitum. Geonzon took home P7,000 cash prize and a certificate. Bangsiyawan Aquatic Dance winners bared

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 27, 2022) – Barangay Malalag Women’s Association rejoices as they win champion in the Bangsiyawan Aquatic Dance Competition on January 26 during the opening ceremony of the 15th Bangsi Festival held at Pawikan Nursery, Barangay Kiambing. They brought home a cash prize of P10,800. Next to Malalag were Barangays Mabay and Pangi who won 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Bangsi bangkarera won by Old Pob racer

MAITUM, Sarangani (January 27, 2022) – Dexter Mangonga, 20, from barangay Old Poblacion wins in the Bangkarera during the opening ceremony of the 15th Bangsi Festival on January 26 held at Pawikan Nursery, Barangay Kiambing. Mangonga, one of the youngest in the competition, bested other participants and took home P10,000 cash prize. His runners-up took home P7,000 and P5,000. MAASIM, Sarangani (January 26, 2022) – Barangay Chairman Erwin Tabalao of Nomoh oversees the delivery of services of the different local and national-line agencies to residents of Barangay Nomoh during the conduct of Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan and Zerbisyong Panigurado on January 25. Tabalao said he was truly grateful that the government services have now reached the residents of Barangay Nomoh and it has become one of the selected recipient barangays of the ELCAC program of the national and local government. The Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan is part of the Retooled Community Support Program under Executive Order 70 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte. Roads open opportunities; end insurgency

MAASIM, Sarangani (January 26, 2022) – Mayor Zyrex Pacquiao says “opening accessible road networks” is one of the priority projects of the municipal government of Maasim for barangay Nomoh in order for more of the government services to reach the farthest sitios in the barangay. This was one of the highlights of his message during the Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan and Zerbisyong Panigurado on January 25 held at Nomoh Integrated School. Pacquaio further said that opening more roads will also help in bringing in investment opportunities even to the remote sitios in Maasim. Barangay Nomoh is the last stop for the Serbisyo Caravan in Maasim after barangays Pananag, Malbang, Bales, Lumasal, and Seven Hills. The Serbisyo Caravan is in response to President Duterte’s Executive Order 70 or the Whole-of-Nation approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) in order to address the motivation for insurgency. MAASIM, Sarangani (January 25, 2022) – (From right) Vice Mayor Visitacion Nambatac and Mayor Zyrex Pacquiao lead the distribution of food packs to the locals of Barangay Seven Hills during the conduct of the Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan on January 20. The food pack distribution was a counterpart of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta and with the support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members in the convergence of the different government agencies to deliver and provide services and assistance to the people. The distributed assistance includes rice and food packs. MAASIM, Sarangani (January 25, 2022) - Lt. Col. Nicomedes P. Olaivar, Sarangani Police Provincial Director, conducts a brief information campaign regarding the Executive Order No. 70 or the institutionalized whole-of-nation approach in obtaining exclusive and sustainable peace-giving as an effective solution against communist-terrorists during the Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan on January 20 at Barangay Seven Hills. Olaivar also talked about the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign, anti-violence against women and children, special protection of children against abuse, exploitation and discrimination act, environmental laws, and other anti-criminality campaigns of the Philippine National Police (PNP). Olaivar also commended all the local and municipal officials of Seven Hills and Maasim for their efforts in achieving peace and order in their community. MAASIM, Sarangani (January 25, 2022) – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Sarangani conducts an information drive on the anti-illegal drugs campaign as part of the Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan on January 20 at Barangay Seven Hills. Agent Agila (standing) also conducted a seminar on the ill effects of using illegal drugs and presented the different approaches used by the government to eradicate the use of illegal drugs in the community. Part of the discussion was the corresponding punishments enforced to those who will be caught or proven using illegal drugs. The activity was attended by some locals of Barangay Seven Hills mostly composed of farmers and fisherfolks. Agila also disclosed that Seven Hills is already declared as drug cleared.
