ALABEL, Sarangani (February 27, 2022) – Some officials, heads of offices, and Capitol employees gather on February 25 at the Capitol grounds to commemorate the 36th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. A flag-raising ceremony was held, led by the Provincial Security Group (PSG) on a rainy Friday morning, to celebrate the 36th year of the 1986 bloodless revolt that happened at EDSA. In history, the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution gathered millions of Filipinos from all walks of life to march along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), to end the regime of then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos and begin a new era marked by so-called true freedom and democracy. It manifested through a series of non-violent and popular demonstrations staged in different cities nationwide that began in 1983 and culminated in 1986. EDSA People Power spirit alive at Capitol

ALABEL, Sarangani (February 27, 2022) – The Internal Audit Office of the BANGSAMORO Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao conducts a benchmarking visit to the Internal Audit Unit of the Office of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon on February 23 at the Capitol lobby, JLC Bldg, Capitol compound. Fernando Tolete (standing), internal auditor III of IAU-PGO, led the discussion of the best practices, techniques, and strategies of the province in the conduct of the baseline assessment in the internal control system. Hasmiene Ibrahim, internal auditor V of the Office of the Chief Minister of BARMM, said “we have learned from previous engagements namin with internal auditors in the national level, na established and well-operating na ‘yung internal audit ng province of Sarangani, that’s why we called their attention and requested for this benchmarking visit.” She said they were grateful that their request was immediately granted by Governor Solon. “We hope that this will not be the last meeting of both internal audit offices and that in the future, the internal audit office of BARMM can somehow as well help the internal audit unit of Sarangani,” Ibrahim said. COMELEC campaigns Vote S.A.F.E Pilipinas

ALABEL, Sarangani (February 27, 2022) – Incumbent Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, Board Members Jose Tranquilino Ruiz, Rosemarie Sayo, and Congressman Ruel Pacquiao who is running for governor, sign on the integrity wall for a safe national and local 2022 election on February 26 during the candidates’ briefing and vote-counting machines (VCM) roadshow presentation at the Capitol gym. The activity was spearheaded by Sarangani Commission on Elections (COMELEC) headed by Atty. Jay Gerada, provincial election supervisor IV, COMELEC Campaign Committee, Armed Forces of the Philippines counterparts and staff from the Department of the Interior and Local Government. PCol. Nicomedes Olaivar, Sarangani Police Provincial Office Director, said that in the midst of the pandemic “we should be constantly mindful of the public health risks associated with political campaigning.” He added that despite the election, everyone should still adhere to the minimum health and safety protocols, as well as all other applicable guidelines issued by the appropriate health authorities and the Commission on Elections. 50 couples tie knot in Kasalan ng Bayan 2022

MALUNGON, Sarangani (February 27, 2022) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (3rd from right) and other provincial officials grace the Kasalan ng Bayan 2022 officiated by Mayor Atty. Tessa Constantino (4th from right) on February 23 at the Sunken Arena, Municipal Grounds. MAASIM, Sarangani (February 24, 2022) – The municipality of Maasim truly upholds its battlecry “Maasenso Maasim” as various infrastructure projects are underway to develop and uplift the lives of its people.

Among these projects are the construction of the town's new integrated transport terminal building, new public market, evacuation center, housing and resettlement project, and drug treatment and rehabilitation center.

Through the effort of Senator Manny Pacquiao with the support of the provincial officials headed by Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, all the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, and the local officials of Maasim, the construction of the infrastructure projects is set to bring a great change in the municipality.

ALABEL, Sarangani (February 22, 2022) – The local government of Sarangani through its Provincial Health Office (PHO) has officially launched the vaccination against Covid-19 for children ages 5 to 11 years old.

During the last day of the simultaneous national inoculation for the pediatric group on February 18, some PHO staff welcomed the kids at a party-themed venue at the Capitol gym.

Maria Razel Bustria, national immunization program (NIP) provincial coordinator, said the rollout is in line with the national government’s advisory to start the inoculation among the youngest age group.
