MALUNGON, Sarangani (February 7, 2022) – BGen. Allan D. Hambala (center), acting commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, presides the Change of Command Ceremony as BGen. Potenciano C. Camba (left) turns over the command and symbol to incoming Brigade Commander Col. Alexi Musñgi on February 3 during the Change of Command Ceremony at Camp Agaab Jr., Sitio Pulatana, Malandag. Camba served as the Brigade Commander of the 1002nd Brigade for two years. He passed the position to Col. Musñgi who was previously assigned in G3 Philippine Army. Camba will now be assigned as the new Deputy Commander of the East Mindanao Command in Panacan, Davao City. Col. Musñgi as the new Brigade Commander assured that his support to the regional offices and the local government units will continue. The Integrated Base Defense (IBD) of the 1002nd Brigade has operational jurisdiction over the portions of the provinces of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and North Cotabato in Region 12, and Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental in Region 11. MALUNGON, Sarangani (February 7, 2022) – Atty. Ryan Ramos, chief of staff of Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, hands over a plaque of appreciation to BGen. Potenciano C. Camba on February 3 during the Change of Command Ceremony at Camp Agaab Jr., Sitio Pulatana, Malandag. The gesture of honor is in recognition of Camba’s exemplary and remarkable service, leadership, and commitment as the Brigade Commander of 1002nd Infantry (Bagwis) Brigade and 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Philippine Army. Camba said, “I am very proud to be assigned dito dahil napaka-supportive ng ating LGU at ng ating mga Local Chief Executives para magtulungan upang maisakatuparan ang direktiba ng Pangulong Duterte na matuldukan itong communist insurgency na matagal ng sigalot ng ating bansa.” In his talk, Ramos recognized the leadership of Camba in contribution to Congressman Pacquiao’s Ronda Probinsya Alang sa Kalinaw program in uplifting the lives of the Sarangans in the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) of the province particularly in the areas of Glan, Malungon, Alabel and Malapatan. ALABEL, Sarangani (February 7, 2022) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon speaks before guests and some beneficiaries of the Inclusive Program for the Equal Access to Complete Education (IPEACE) on February 2 at the Capitol gym. Solon said “tungod sa inyong background, daghan ang muingon nga wala na moy pag-asa sa inyong kinabuhi.” But Solon said, “Sarangani is a province of second chances, we are God-centered kay kung naa tay nahimo before nga dili maayo, we have second chances basta maningkamot ta nga mulambo pa.” Through the collaborative efforts of the provincial officials headed by Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, all the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, and Governor Solon himself, all the beneficiaries are assured to receive more assistance until they finish their college degree. During the event, each of the beneficiaries received P25,000 cash assistance to support their tuition fee, book allowance, transportation and other school obligations. IPEACE is an education program for peace initiated by Governor Solon targeting vulnerable youth, particularly children of the former rebels (FRs) to gain access in the completion of their tertiary education. ALABEL, Sarangani (February 7, 2022) – Jeah Rose Sumaya from Sitio Akbbungkod, Barangay Kinam in Malapatan expresses her message of gratitude to the provincial government of Sarangani during the awarding of cash assistance to the beneficiaries of the Inclusive Program for Equal Access to Complete Education (IPEACE) on February 2 at the Capitol gym. Sumaya is 23 years old and is currently taking up her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Stratford International School in General Santos City. She is one of the 20 beneficiaries of the program who received P25,000 cash assistance which will be given to them annually to cover their tuition fee, book allowance, transportation and other school obligations. According to John Oliver Tablazon, Sarangani’s provincial youth development officer-designate, the 20 beneficiaries are the first batch of the program, “so continuous ito until they graduate sa kanilang chosen course.” Tablazon said that the awarded beneficiaries were endorsed by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office through the help of the 38th and 73rd Infantry Battalions. “Sila po yung napili natin dahil na-qualify sila doon sa criteria based sa EO No. 2 of Governor Steve kung saan nakasaad na priority ang ating youth who are part of the marginalized sectors coming from the poorest sector ng province." All the beneficiaries of the program received P25,000 each as annual assistance to support their tuition fee, book allowance, transportation and other school obligations. IPEACE is an education program for peace initiated by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon targeting the vulnerable youth, particularly children of former rebels to gain access in the completion of their tertiary education. John Oliver Tablazon, provincial youth development officer-designate, said “aside sa pagiging scholars, itong mga IPEACE beneficiaries natin ay magiging peace champions natin in their respective communities.” Tablazon disclosed “we want these young people to be the partners of the provincial government that is why we are planning to teach them how to be peace champions to capacitate them as young leaders.” Present during the awarding ceremony were Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, Leah Rosauro (Sulong Karunungan project manager), Teshauna Escobar of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, 1Lt.
