MALAPATAN, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – Some provincial heads, barangay, and municipal officials headed by Mayor Salway Sumbo Jr., and stakeholders take a pose during the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of the Barangay Daan Suyan multipurpose building on March 15. The construction of the project has a total amount of P4.9M funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022 through the office of Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao and implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Sarangani Province. It has a total dimension of 679 sq. m. with two dressing rooms, three comfort rooms, and complete painting, electrical, and plumbing works. The realization of the infrastructure project was made possible through the strong support and efforts of Senator Manny Pacquiao, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, all the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, and all the officials of Malapatan. ALABEL, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and former Governor Migs Dominguez, vice president for operations of the Alsons Agri-Business Unit, grace the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of the bypass road from the national highway to Barangay Bagacay on March 15 at Barangay Maribulan. Dominguez said “ito ang umpisa ng progreso, umpisa upang maging isang siyudad na ang Alabel, at magiging rason upang hindi na tayo mangibang-bayan para mag hanapbuhay.” Solon expressed his appreciation to the Alcantara family for being the province’s supporter during the onset of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. “Katong pagsugod pa lang sa Covid, ang group ni Migs Dominguez maoy nagtabang sa atoa nga protektahan ang community pinaagi sa pagpanghatag og masks and PPE nga hutdanay kaniadto.” The land where the bypass road will be constructed was donated by the Alcantara family with a construction amount of P19.2M from the General Appropriations Act 2022 which will be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). P19.2M Alabel bypass road breaks ground

ALABEL, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – (From left) Former Governor Migs Dominguez, vice president for operations of the Alsons Agri-Business Unit; Mayor Vic Paul Salarda, and Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon lead the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of the bypass road from the national highway to Barangay Bagacay on March 15 at Barangay Maribulan. The bypass road will serve as an alternate access road and additional route to and from Alabel connecting the town proper to other barangays linking them for future development and growth. This will also avoid the buildup area in the town center district including the road’s safety for commuters and allowing the traffic to flow without impeding or detracting the local traffic. This will also help reduce the congestion and is a preparation for future development and progress as Alabel is aiming for its cityhood. The said project was realized through the generosity of the town’s leading partner in development which is the Sarangani Agriculture Company Inc. (SACI). JV Ejercito visits Sarangani

ALABEL, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – During the first Provincial Scholars’ Assembly on March 17, former senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito visits and greets some Paaral para sa Sarangan (PPSS) scholars at the Capitol gym. Ejercito commended the leadership of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon for prioritizing the youth’s welfare by giving scholarship grants. He encouraged the PPSS scholars to focus and finish their education “because you will have a better chance as you face reality kasi you will be equipped with knowledge, education and skills para pagka-graduate ninyo, better chance na maganda yung inyong makukuhang trabaho.” Ejercito was the principal author of the Universal Health Care law, Free Higher Education Act and one of those who approved the establishment of the Sarangani National Sports Academy (SaNSA). ALABEL, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon talks during the first Provincial Scholars’ Assembly on March 16 at the Capitol gym. Solon said the scholars are the “future of the province” and described them as the “infrastructure of how Sarangani will look like.” The activity aims to establish and strengthen the Paaral para sa Sarangan (PPSS)structure in every municipality. This will also further enhance the employability of the scholars making them highly competitive in the world of work both local and global, and prepare them to face the demands of the 4th industrial revolution. A total of 583 scholars from the seven municipalities of Sarangani attended the activity. Michelle Solon inspires PPSS scholars

ALABEL, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – Michelle Solon, provincial and regional tourism council chairperson, speaks before some Paaral para sa Sarangan (PPSS) scholars on March 17 during the first Provincial Scholars’ Assembly at the Capitol gym. Solon inspired the scholars by sharing her successes and struggles when she was still a student. She emphasized the importance of having courage, being strong and victorious in achieving dreams. “Studying is not easy especially if you don’t have enough money but if you have determination, you desire it, you keep praying for it, God will give you strength, courage, and victory,” she said. “Keep dreaming, the more you dream, the more you will have the determination to succeed,” Solon added. ALABEL, Sarangani (March 17, 2022) – Josephine Alog, Human Resource Management and Development officer-in-charge, talks about the Filipino characters of becoming a job-ready Sarangani youth during the first Provincial Scholars’ Assembly on March 17 at the Capitol gym. Alog said “this is important for them because they are on their studies pa and it is expected for them to look for a job after graduation.” She added “they would be conscious of the traits that are needed by the agencies and entities in selecting the right talent for the position that’s why these things are dapat lang talaga na matutunan ng ating mga scholars.” Alog also challenged the PPSS scholars to be part of the solution to the problems faced by the country today. The Provincial Scholar’s Assembly serves as a kick-off of the “tracking of graduates system” to be in place under the program for future reference and possible employment linkage. ALABEL, Sarangani (March 16, 2022) – Some provincial officials, heads, and staff of the Sarangani Provincial Hospital (SPH) lead the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the SPH East Wing Building during its turnover and inauguration on March 14. The construction has an appropriation fund amounting to a total of P148M for phases one, two and three which was mobilized through the initiative of Senator Manny Pacquiao, and Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, with the help of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, and all the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members. The SPH East Wing is a three-storey building that has imaging services such as x-ray, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on its ground floor; airconditioned general wards which cater four to six beds each on its second floor; and three private rooms on its third floor. The SPH East Wing Building is also equipped with an elevator. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro disclosed that the P25M from total budget for the construction of the SPH East Wing building was from the General Appropriation Act (GAA) of the province appropriated to comply the fire safety requirement of the Bureau of Fire Protection. “Maipagmamalaki natin ito kasi most likely it is the only hospital in the region that is really very compliant sa BFP,” Alejandro said. “Once our license to operate is issued by the DOH,” Alejandro said, “our hospital will now be a Level 2 or Level 1 with ICU hospital.” Alejandro also added that there will also be an additional P25M for the full operation of the SPH East Wing Building.
