ALABEL, Sarangani (April 21, 2022) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon speaks before guests during the 12th Grand Iftar on April 13 at the Capitol gym. Solon thanked everyone who has contributed to the development of the Muslim Community in the province. He also encouraged all the Sarangani Islamic scholars to pursue their education and be the hope of the province. During the event, the Provincial Government of Sarangani Muslim Employees Association also awarded Governor Solon a plaque of appreciation for being the champion in advancing the progress and development of the Muslim Community in Sarangani. Sarangani celebrates 12th Grand Iftar

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 21, 2022) – More than 500 individuals from the Muslim Community grace the 12th Grand Iftar on April 13 at the Capitol gym. The activity was anchored in the theme “The Attitude of Gratitude: A Secret to Prosperity”. The Grand Iftar is celebrated as a symbol of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon’s vision to achieve God-centered prosperity. The activity is celebrated annually through the Provincial Governor’s Office. It was attended by some religious and community leaders; provincial officials; Capitol employees; Asatids and Imams; peace and development partners and advocates; youth leaders; and other Muslim and non-Muslim stakeholders for a solidarity dinner and to celebrate the breaking of the fast in line with the observance of the month of Ramadhan. GENERAL SANTOS CITY (April 21, 2022) – Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon attends the destruction of the P8M-worth dangerous drugs on April 12 at Monte Cielo Eternal Gardens, General Santos City. The activity was led by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XII Regional Director Naravy Duquiatan. Solon commended the support of PDEA XII for “really helping the region specially Sarangani in fighting the use of illegal drugs and help these people who were victims to redirect and make their lives better.” According to Duquiatan, the destruction of the dangerous drugs is pursuant to Section 21, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 and Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 1 series of 2002 and Board Regulation No.1 Series of 2007 which mandates the proper disposal and destruction of seized dangerous drugs and controlled precursors and essential chemicals. Also present during the activity were Philippine National Police (PNP) XII Regional Director PBGen Alexander Tagum, Deputy Regional Director for Operations PCol. Michael Lebanan, PCol. Salman Haron Sapal of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division and some city and provincial directors of Region 12. ALABEL, Sarangani (April 21, 2022) – Usec. Marlon Iringan, Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary for local government, speaks before locals and guests on April 19 during the groundbreaking ceremony of ELCAC projects at Purok 12-Dacera, Barangay Domolok. “Water is life, more importantly potable water is a right. Ito po ay karapatan ng bawat mamamayan na mabigyan ng potable water at sa tingin namin, ang inyong matagal nang pangarap na magkaroon ng source of potable water, magkakaroon na ng katuparan sa pamamagitan ng proyektong ito,” Iringan said during the ground-breaking of four ELCAC-funded projects which include the construction of level II potable water supply systems in Purok Datal Conde, Purok 5-Baldange, and Purok Datal Mutag, and a farm-to-market road concreting project in Upper Domolok going to Tinago Latian, including a provincial government-funded water system project in Purok 12-Dacera. Iringan also encouraged the locals, especially the beneficiaries, to take good care of the projects that were given to them. “Kailangan protektahan natin ang mga proyektong ito dahil ang layon lang naman ng NTF-ELCAC ay ang maayos at mabilis na pagkaka-implement ng mga projects na ito, dahil alam natin na talagang makikinabang ang mga tao dito,” he said. He also congratulated the 544 households or the more or less 2,700 beneficiaries of the projects. “I do believe these projects are worth more than 20 million in terms of the benefit that our people will gain from it,” Iringan added. Salarda backs NTF-ELCAC projects in Alabel

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 21, 2022) – Mayor Vic Paul Salarda (left) thanks Usec. Marlon Iringan (right), Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary for local government, for the programs the DILG has given especially to the people of Alabel. “Malaking tulong talaga itong mga napakagandang programa, kasi tayo sa LGU hindi natin ito magagawa kung walang tulong galing sa national,” Salarda said during the ground-breaking ceremony of ELCAC projects on April 19 at Purok 12-Dacera, Barangay Domolok. Salarda said he was grateful for the four ELCAC-funded projects given to barangay Domolok which include the construction of level II potable water supply systems in Purok Datal Conde, Purok 5-Baldange, and Purok Datal Mutag, and a Farm-to-Market Road Concreting project in Upper Domolok going to Tinago Latian, including a provincial government-funded water system project in Purok 12-Dacera. In Alabel, four barangays which include Domolok, Pag-asa, Alegria, and Datal Anggas, are among the 13 ELCAC barangays all over Sarangani that are recipients of the P20-million Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP). ELCAC projects in Domolok break ground

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 21, 2022) – (From left) Usec. The ELCAC projects include the Construction of Level II Potable Water Supply Systems in Purok Datal Conde, Purok 5-Baldange, and Purok Datal Mutag, and a Farm-to-Market Road Concreting project in Upper Domolok going to Tinago Latian. Also, a PLGU-Sarangani-funded project of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon which is the Purok Dacera Water System will soon rise in Purok 12-Dacera. The ELCAC projects were part of the P20-million Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) which was given to the ELCAC barangays or the now insurgency-free barangays in Sarangani, including barangay Domolok in Alabel. Each of the three potable water system projects in the recipient sitios amounts to P4 million while the FMR project has a budget of P8 million, which totals to P20 million. ALABEL, Sarangani (April 11, 2022) – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has issued Memorandum Circular No. 2006-150 pertaining to the establishment and operation of the Special Drug Education Centers (SDEC) to develop and implement programs and services along with the drug prevention among the out-of-school youth (OSY) and street children in the entire country.

Lizette Lopez, Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) focal person, said that in Sarangani, the SDEC would serve as “a community-based facility and a venue to promote preventive and developmental services for the OSYs and street children in the province.” “There will be different programs and services such as interventions, counselling, and livelihood capability training to be offered for those who will undergo the rehab program,” she added.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (April 11, 2022) – Provincial Youth Coordinator John Oliver Tablazon speaks before some youth leaders and guests from the seven municipalities of Sarangani during the Youth Leaders Congress and Peacebuilding activity on March 31. The activity discussed the operational plans in preparation for the establishment of the Sarangani Special Drug Education Center (SDEC). SDEC will be put up to develop and implement programs and services along with drug prevention among the out-of-school youth (OSY) and street children in the entire province. This program will be headed by the offices of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development and Youth Development Unit. ALABEL, Sarangani (April 11, 2022) – PCOL Nicomedes Olaivar, provincial director of the Sarangani Police Provincial Office, together with some police officers, joins the heads of offices and Capitol employees in the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Araw ng Kagitingan and Philippine Veterans Week on April 9 at the Capitol grounds. “This celebration is an inspiration to all of us that this great value of liberty paid by the blood of our veterans should be taught to our youth to aid them to value the importance of patriotism,” Olaivar said in his speech. A flag-raising ceremony was also held, led by the Provincial Security Group (PSG), and the wreath-laying rites were performed by the heads of offices and other representatives. The Day of Valor and the Philippine Veterans Week are commemorative events celebrated every 9th of April and from April 5 to 11 of every year in remembrance of the valor of the Filipino freedom fighters and war veterans who fought during World War II and who rendered honorable military service in defending the country in times of war and peace. Since then, annual commemorations are held in shrines that stand as reminders of the country’s courageous past.
