Sarangani targets increased collection

ALABEL, Sarangani (July 27, 2020) – Amelia Catolico, acting revenue generation division chief, presents the accomplishments and targets of the Revenue Generation for the first semester of 2020 during the awarding and appreciation rites for revenue generators on July 24 at the Capitol gymnasium. Catolico said “as the acting revenue generation division chief, there are a lot of plans and strategies na we’ve set for the second semester for this year”. She added “we are also planning to have more strategies and of course we want that all the field workers, collectors and checkers to move into one boat to sail towards a common goal and that is of course to increase collection and to sustain a God-centered governance”. Catolico also encouraged all the members of the Revenue Generation “to keep the team effort in order to achieve teamwork”. Revenue generators take center stage

ALABEL, Sarangani (July 27, 2020) – Eliza Cania (left), acting provincial treasurer, and Amelia Catolico (right), acting revenue generation division chief, hands over the tokens and certificate of appreciation to Jose Diani (center), from the Provincial Treasurer’s Office during the awarding and appreciation rites for revenue generators on July 24 at the Capitol gymnasium. Revenue generators are assigned to different municipalities in Sarangani and are tasked to collect revenues from different local sources such as real property tax, sand and gravel tax, delivery van tax, amusement tax, franchise tax and publication tax. Catolico said “didto ni sila naka-assign sa field kay naay business engagement didto so ang ilang trabaho, for example is to go over the delivery receipts gikan sa extraction sa mga graba or balas gikan sa river bed. They are going to base on the number of cubic ana sa karga and even ang authenticity sa karga sa truck”. Awarding and appreciation ceremony for revenue generators

ALABEL, Sarangani (July 27, 2020) – Eliza Cania, acting provincial treasurer, speaks during the awarding and appreciation rites for revenue generators on July 24 at the Capitol gymnasium. Cania said “this event is for the first semester of 2020, from January to June, gihatagan nato ang atong mga revenue generators og recognition sa ilahang effort to generate revenue, ilabi na karon sa panahon sa COVID.” She added, “karon sa panahon sa pandemya, down kaayo ang atong morale, bisan naa ta sa pandemic, gitagaan gihapon nato og pagtagad ang ilahang efforts”. According to Cania, it was the first time to conduct an awarding and appreciation ceremony for revenue generators since 1992. Revenue Generation is a division under the Provincial Treasurer’s Office trusted in collecting local sources of revenue including real property tax, sand and gravel tax, delivery van tax, amusement tax, franchise tax and publication tax. Sarangani’s revenue generators recognized

ALABEL, Sarangani (July 27, 2020) – Members of the Revenue Generation Division composed of the Provincial Treasurer, Administrator, Environment and Natural Resources, and Engineering offices take a pose during the awarding and appreciation rites for revenue generators on July 24 at the Capitol gymnasium. The event was conducted to give appreciation to the labor and efforts exerted by the revenue generators in the province for the first semester of 2020. Eliza Cania, acting provincial treasurer, said “we conducted this one to give appreciation sa atong field workers who have exerted efforts in collecting taxes doon sa ating local sources of revenue and in this way, at least kahit papano, mabigyan natin sila ng credits and motivate them to continue”. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was conducted strictly following the minimum health protocols including the wearing of masks and social distancing. Sarangani officials, CLAFI turn over tablets for students

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (July 24, 2020) – The provincial government of Sarangani and its officials, together with DepEd Sarangani and Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation Inc. (CLAFI), turn over tablets with instructional materials to parents of Calay IP School learners on July 23 at barangay Lun Masla. The turnover was assisted by Sulong Karunungan program coordinator Mariefe Gomez (extreme right), Board Members Jess Bascuña (2nd from right), Ephraim Galzote (3rd from right), and Rheymar Dian (4th from left), Donna Panes (3rd from left) who is Curriculum and Instruction Division Chief of Sarangani, and Schools Division Superintendent Gildo Mosqueda (4th from right). Mayor Sumbo thanks CLAFI, DepEd for LR on WHEeLS

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (July 24, 2020) – Mayor Salway Sumbo Jr. gives his full support for the implementation of LR on WHEeLS project in Calay IP School in barangay Lun Masla. “Malaki ang pasasalamat natin dito sa LGU ng Malapatan, lalung-lalo na itong mga parents dito sa Calay IP School na nabibiyayaan nitong mga units, at the same time ang LGU Malapatan willing magbigay ng suporta,” said Sumbo in an interview on July 23 during the conduct of dry run of LR of WHEeLS at Calay IP School. “Nagpapasalamat talaga tayo sa DepEd lalo na kay SDS Mosqueda at kay RD Farnazo dahil binigyan tayo ng pagkakataon talagang dito ni-launch yung bagong system natin ngayon, bagong technology,” he added. Dry run of LR on WHEeLS successful

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (July 24, 2020) – Teachers and staff of DepEd-Sarangani conduct dry run of LR on WHEeLS on July 23 at Calay IP School in barangay Lun Masla. The tablets were being programmed for LR on WhEeLS set to be used by the parents and learners in the community for the opening of classes in August. LR on WHEeLS will make learning materials available to learners in the form of digital learning resources like documents, videos, and interactive worksheets. DepEd Sarangani: e-Learning possible thru LR on WHEeLS

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (July 24, 2020) – Schools Division Superintendent Gildo Mosqueda (extreme right) gives an update on the enrollment status of all public schools in Sarangani and the LR on WHEeLS project of DepEd Sarangani. “Out of the 66,000 na enrolled na learners, we have 24,000 na may gadget pero walang internet connection. So one alternative is the LR on WHEeLS for us to do away with face to face,” Mosqueda said on July 23 during the dry run of LR on WHEeLS at Calay IP School in barangay Lun Masla. LR on WHEeLS or Learning Resources on WiFi Hub for Expanded e-Learning in Sarangani is an innovation of DepEd Sarangani to make e-Learning possible to more learners in the province, including those areas that do not have an internet connection and even signal reception. CLAFI gives tablets for LR on WHEeLS

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (July 24, 2020) – Students of Calay IP School, together with their parents, receive tablets on July 23 from the Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation Inc. (CLAFI) through the provincial government and Department of Education – Division of Sarangani. Some 50 units of tablets were donated by CLAFI to Calay IP school students and parents during the dry run of the LR on WHEeLS project or Learning Resources on Wifi Hub for Expanded e-Learning in Sarangani of the DepEd Sarangani at barangay Lun Masla. Commissioning of Sarangani Medical Waste Treatment Facility, to treat infectious wastes

ALABEL, Sarangani (July 24, 2020) – (From left) Mary Ann Zabala, RAD Green Solutions Corporation project in-charge, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and Rolando Tuballes, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, inspect the newly-installed “Pyroclave Optima”, a medical waste processor that uses pyrolysis or the process of decomposing waste materials using extreme heat without direct contact with the waste materials, on July 23 at Barangay Bagacay. The “Pyroclave Optima” is part of the Sarangani Medical Waste Treatment Facility (SMWTF) which will treat infectious wastes from all the province-run hospitals in Sarangani. Tuballes said “this technology will be using thermal disinfection sa mga medical wastes from our hospitals in the province, especially katong mga infections wastes, pathological waste, pharmaceutical waste, and syringes.” (Martin Fernando Bernad Jr.-Joshua John S.
