Initiatives done to mitigate spread of Covid-19 in Maasim

MAASIM, Sarangani (September 3, 2020) - (From left) Dr. Jhonnace Arriane Magan, Maasim municipal health officer; Dr. Arvin Alejandro, provincial health officer; and Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (seated) talk about the primary concerns regarding Maasim’s Covid-19 cases. The meeting on September 1 focused on the updating, recommendations and initiatives to mitigate the spread of Covid-19. Alejandro said “this is also an act of providing morale support sa team ng LGU Maasim especially that they have already a case na namatay who is positive sa virus”. Alejandro also said that they have discussed lockdown initiatives in some of the town’s sitio and purok “kung saan may mga nag-positive din sa antibody test na may direct contact doon sa namatay”. Alejandro disclosed that all fish vendors of the town who had “prime movements” at the General Santos Fishport Complex, where the town’s first death case has a travel history, were already under home quarantine. Alejandro continues to appeal to all Sarangan, “kapag may nararamdaman na lagnat or sore throat, sipon or ubo, kailangan ng magpa check-up at huwag ng patagalin, kasi may mga nagre-report na malala na yung nararamdaman at kondisyon, so mas mahihirapan tayong i-manage at magiging mahirap na yung contact tracing natin.” (Camelle Bianca Mantua-Joshua John Pantonial/MAASIM INFORMATION OFFICE)
