Covid-19 Initiatives: Koronadal benchmarking in Sarangani

ALABEL, Sarangani (October 7, 2020) – A team from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Koronadal City conducts a benchmarking activity in Sarangani Province on September 29 at the conference room, JLC building. The benchmarking activity was done to share how Sarangani implements its contact tracing interventions and to discuss the good practices of the province in its continuous fight against Covid-19. Sarangani shared its Covid-19 initiatives such as coming up with a unified decision, guidelines, leadership, and the proper designation of command and control. Aside from that, Sarangani also presented its investigative technique through the Philippine National Police (PNP) which is also part of the Sarangani contact tracing team. Lt. Col. Neil Wadingan, PNP Sarangani Contact Tracing Support Coordinator, said “the province has decided to include the PNP in the contact tracing team up to the barangay level. We have seen that kasi as one very important component because it can provide security and mas susunod kasi ang mga tao kapag nakakakita ng mga men in uniform.” Dr. Arvin Alejandro, provincial health officer, also added “dapat may timely reporting din sila. We are doing that dito sa atin through our Executive Order that leads us for planning and budgeting for our surveillance units.” (Rey Gatcho - Joshua John Pantonial/VICE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE)
