Sarangani disinfects Capitol offices as defense to Covid-19

ALABEL, Sarangani (June 25, 2021) – As a preventive measure against the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Provincial Local Government Unit of Sarangani conducts a general disinfection in all offices inside the Capitol compound. On June 25, the Provincial Health (PHO) and the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) spearheaded the activity where trained personnel performed the disinfection. According to Federico Yadao, medical technologist of the PHO, these personnel were trained in handling disinfection and vector control “or ‘yung pag-handle ng disinfectants at the same time ‘yung mga insecticide.” He explained “ang kaibahan lang nitong ginawa natin today is mas detailed ‘yung pagdi-disinfect sa loob ng mga offices and even ‘yung mga corridors natin.” He further encouraged each office in the Capitol to frequently do the disinfection especially in the common objects or areas used by the public such as the doorknobs. He also urged employees to spend the weekends in disinfecting their homes. “Pwede nating gamitin ang maalinsangan nating panahon to disinfect sa mga tinutulugan natin like our foams, bedsheets, blankets and pillows. Kasi ‘yung init is makakatulong sa pag-patay ng germs and bacteria na naa-accumulate doon as ating mga beddings.” He also reminded, to “always remember that our strongest defense against Covid-19 starts within our homes.” (Jake Narte-Joshua John Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
