Workers vaccinated from Covid-19 turns to be a farm owner’s social responsibility

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 5, 2021)- Additional 600 individuals will get their AstraZeneca jabs with the 60 vials the Provincial Government of Sarangani received on July 26 from Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF). The vaccines came as a fulfillment to the social responsibility of the owner of Dizon Farm, who facilitated the donation through Zuellig Pharma, to have their workers vaccinated against Covid-19 as well as the nearby residents in Barangay Baluntay, Alabel where the farm is situated. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro said his office is looking into providing the vaccines where families of their farm workers live but shall ascertain that it is within the guidelines for A1, A2, and A3 categories. According to his office, planning and coordination will be conducted prior to the vaccination rollout to avoid possible chaos or misunderstanding in the community. Vaccination, however, for the remaining unvaccinated or due for booster shots from A1, A2, A3 categories is ongoing in all seven towns in Sarangani. ZFF has been a partner of the provincial government and of the Department of Health (DOH), according to Dr. Sharir Dulduco, DOH provincial officer for Sarangani. He expressed gratitude to ZFF for the donated vaccines as he also acknowledged the foundation’s efforts to train Sarangani’s elected officials on Health Leadership and Governance Program “to improve health system,” of Sarangani.
