Sarangani begins Covid-19 vaccination for minors aged 12-17

ALABEL, Sarangani (November 16, 2021) – As the provincial government begins inoculating the pediatric group or minors aged 12 to 17 years old in Sarangani, Maria Razel Bustria, National Immunization Program (NIP) provincial coordinator, motivates minors queueing for their jabs not to be afraid to be inoculated. She also rendered a short orientation about the benefits of being fully vaccinated. The minors who got their first dose of Pfizer vaccines on November 11 at the Sarangani Provincial Hospital were dependents of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and provincial hospital-based workers. Bustria explained, they prioritized these kids because of their “vulnerability” being the children of hospital workers “lalo na ‘yung mga doctors at nurses na sila ‘yung close in contact doon sa mga Covid-19 clients natin na posibleng magdala ng virus” to them. Bustria’s team expected to inoculate some 80 minors during the vaccination kick-off for the group but had prepared to cater more as she said they “have enough number of vaccines.” Also present during the activity were Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro and Board Member Irish Louie Arnado-Beñola who also chairs the Sangguniang Panlalawigan committee on health.
