Philippine Eagle rescued in Celebes Sea

MAASIM, Sarangani (December 14, 2019) - Ali Kamal (extreme right), 75, a resident of Sitio Dampilan, Barangay Lumatil narrates that a big bird was spotted for three days staying at fishing boats until it was rescued at sea when it was unable to fly out on December 13. In the photo, Kamal is speaking to Cornelio Ramirez (2nd from right), director of the Environmental Conservation and Protection Center (ECPC); ECPC veterinarian Roy Mejorada (extreme left) and Alejandra Sison (2nd from right), municipal environment and natural resources officer of Maasim. It turned out the bird was a Philippine Eagle and was immediately transported by the Philippine Eagle Foundation to its base in Davao City on December 14.
