PWUDs included in Livelihood Assistance for Backyard Hog Raising

ALABEL, Sarangani (January 8, 2020) – Some 32 beneficiaries from Alabel, Malapatan and Maitum receive a total of 88 kilos of starter hog pellets during the turn-over of Livelihood Assistance for Backyard Hog Raising Project on January 8. Some of the beneficiaries were Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDs) who have chosen to redirect themselves to hog raising instead of engaging in illegal drugs. Glenda Revaño, provincial Public Employment Service Office manager, said, “I hope na this project, if not in total, will eventually help the province in decreasing the number of those individuals who are engaging into drugs. Through this project, we really want to give support, syempre we want to change their lives and this will totally refocus the attention of these individuals into the expansion of their livelihood."
