IP community, tribal chieftains assured of Dakeol Forest management

MAITUM, Sarangani (June 29, 2020) - Dr. Ali Hadjinasser, PhD., Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer, tackles the issues and concerns of the Indigenous People (IP) during the writeshop for the crafting of critical habitat management plan of Dakeol Forest held at Lucena River Tubing Resort in Barangay New La Union on June 26. Hadjinasser gave insights to the Indigenous People Mandatory Representative and tribal chieftains regarding their plans and programs entailed with the protection of the said forest land. He assured that the program will not be violating any provisions of the IPRA Law. The Critical Habitat Management Plan of Dakeol Forest aims to seek for the declaration of the Dakeol Forest in Barangay Batian as a critical habitat to ensure the safety of those critically endangered and threatened species living in the ecosystem of Dakeol Forest.
