IATF backs stricter border protocols in Sarangani

ALABEL, Sarangani (October 22, 2020) – Members of the Sarangani COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) headed by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon convene on October 20 at the Capitol conference room to discuss the current borders situation in the province. According to Assistant Provincial Administrator Engr. Gerald Faciol, the province “will be more strict with our protocols pertaining to borders, especially with our neighboring cities and provinces, ngayon na may national guideline na most of the LGUs are easing up their borders.” Faciol said the task force agreed to do so after the “request to be stricter with the borders” have been approved by the Regional IATF. “The more libre ang mga borders, the movement of people will really be significantly higher, and the more we have to be vigilant at maging strikto sa ating protocols because we already know na ang nagadala man gyud sa spread sa virus is the movement of people,” he added. Other members of the IATF who attended the meeting were Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro; Rene Punzalan, provincial disaster risk reduction and management officer; PCOL Michael Lebanan, Sarangani Provincial Police Office (SPPO) provincial director; and Engr.
