DOLE rolls out TUPAD program in Sarangani

ALABEL, Sarangani (December 9, 2020) – Glenda Revaño, designated provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) manager, talks before qualified beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program from the towns of Alabel and Malapatan during their orientation and contract signing on December 7 at the Sarangani National Sports Academy (SANSA). TUPAD program under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers. Qualified beneficiaries in Sarangani were mostly tricycle drivers, Overseas Filipino Workers, vendors and construction workers who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The TUPAD program in Sarangani has a total budget of P5 million and was made possible through the initiative of Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, Congressman Rogelio Pacquiao, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta and the rest of the board members with the help of DOLE Region 12 and DOLE Sarangani.
