TUPAD for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers

ALABEL, Sarangani (December 9, 2020) – Some beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program fasten the swimming pool lane ropes of the Sarangani National Sports Academy (SANSA) on December 7 during their orientation and contract signing. TUPAD program under the Department of Labor and Employment is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers. In Sarangani, a total of 939 individuals coming from the seven municipalities were qualified for the program. Qualified beneficiaries are required to work for eight hours a day for seven days in their designated workplaces. In the towns of Alabel and Malapatan, beneficiaries were assigned to work at the SANSA dormitories and facilities. Glenda Revaño, designated provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) manager, disclosed that each beneficiary will receive P5,000 at the end of their work period.
