Malungon excels in CMCI

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (December 22, 2020) – Milbie Daguro (left), Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) provincial coordinator, and Provincial Director Ethel Laksmi Gumana (right) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Sarangani hand over the certificate of recognition for the 2020 best municipal coordinator to Trinidad Quimado (center), Malungon CMCI coordinator, during the National CMCI Virtual Summit on December 16 at Anchor Hotel. During the awarding, Malungon town was conferred as the top three most competitive municipality in the whole country for the resiliency pillar. Quimado said, “one of the things that really helped Malungon to achieve this award is the documentation and record-keeping of all the data needed in all indicators of the four pillars.” She added that “our documents were all complete and properly kept that is why hindi na nahirapan yung mga validators to check our records.” She further added that the allotted budget during disasters and for the procurement of emergency response equipment and its application are just some of the indicators being checked for the resiliency pillar. CMCI commenced in 2014 and it is the first time that Sarangani entered the top three finalists. Quimado extended her gratitude to the Malungon LGU and the provincial CMCI for extending help and assistance during the documentation process.
