Management plan of Mount Busa Local Conservation Area discussed

ALABEL, Sarangani (January 6, 2021) – Protect Wildlife-USAID represented by Rex Teves (extreme right) and provincial leaders headed by Board Member Irish Arnado (2nd from right), chairperson of the Committee on Cooperative Development and People's Organization/Non-Government Organization, Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations Engr. Gerald Faciol (2nd from left), and Cornelio Ramirez Jr. (extreme left), Environmental Conservation and Protection Center (ECPC) executive director, convene on December 22 at the Governor’s office to discuss the management plan of Mount Busa Local Conservation Area. According to Teves, Protect Wildlife-USAID turned over the working draft management plan to the provincial government of Sarangani which will “serve as the Bible ng ating conservation area pagdating doon sa implementation when it comes to conservation and protection of Mount Busa.” Mount Busa, which is primarily located in Kiamba but also straddles the towns of Maitum and Maasim, is the highest peak in Sarangani province with an elevation of 2,064 meters above sea level and covers a total area of 114,144 hectares.
