Sarangan Eagles Club, RCSU XII conduct firearms registration

ALABEL, Sarangani (January 25, 2021) – The Sarangani Police Provincial Office (SPPO), together with the Sarangan Eagles Club and the Regional Civil Security Unit (RCSU) XII, conducts a One-Stop Shop Caravan on the application and renewal of License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and firearms registration on January 22 at the Provincial Headquarters, barangay Kawas. According to Police Major Heinrich Alafriz, officer-in-charge of RCSU XII, LTOPF is being held because “the government allows us to have the possession and control of firearms para maipagtanggol natin ang ating sarili sa anumang kapahamakan or what we call self-defense against any aggression.” In the processing of one’s LTOPF, gun enthusiasts/holders should undergo online registration of documents, followed by a drug test, neuro examination, and the gun safety seminar. The LTOPF certificate will only then be acquired after completing all clearances. “This activity is a collaborative effort, not just of the PNP, the LGU, but also the concerned stakeholders, particularly on public safety and security, because accordingly, public safety and security is a shared responsibility,” said PLTCOL Joedy Lito Doria Guisinga, deputy provincial director for administration of the SPPO. According to Board Member Joseph Calanao, who is also Sarangan Eagles Club president, “the LTOPF one-stop shop caravan is in support to the peace and order program of Sarangani, and is also in line with the Ronda Probinsya para sa Peace and Order program by Congressman Ruel Pacquaio.” The LTOPF One-Stop Shop Caravan is a two-day activity which ran on January 22-23.
