SP supports Sarangani Council of Fashion Designers and Artisans

ALABEL, Sarangani (February 2, 2021) – Vice Governor Elmer de Peralta (left) leads the oath-taking ceremony of the officers of the Sarangani Council of Fashion Designers and Artisans on February 2 during the 4th Regular Session of the 10th Sanggunian at the Capitol gym. According to Noel ‘Weng’ Alicarte, president of the council, one of the most affected industries by the Covid-19 pandemic is the fashion and craft industry, “so the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Sarangani) initiated to organize and gather us mga fashion designers to show our creativity by using our native products in our crafts and dresses to promote Sarangani.” Alicarte added “yung mga artisans na mga MSMEs nga nagahimo ug mga native products will collaborate sa among mga designs for our crafts and dresses to promote our homegrown products.” Alicarte said they are very thankful for the “overwhelming support” of the provincial government for their group of local artists.
