Sinovac for senior citizens

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 20, 2021) – Jessen Masukat, nutritionist-dietitian from the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office 12, carefully transfers some Sinovac vaccines to a storage unit in Sarangani Healthcare Facility (SHF) on April 15. During the activity, a total of 1,200 vaccines was formally turned over intended for all individuals who belong to group A2 or the senior citizens prioritizing the indigents based on the DOH hierarchy of prioritization for the vaccination. According to Maria Razel Bustria, provincial NIP (National Immunization Program) coordinator, from April 19 to 24, the vaccines received will be administered to all the seven municipalities of Sarangani. The towns of Malungon, Kiamba and Glan have already started the roll out on April 19. Malapatan and Alabel towns are on April 20 and 21, respectively. Maasim and Maitum towns, on the other hand have not set their schedule yet for the inoculation activity. According to Bustria, the turned over Sinovac vaccines were still designed for two doses with 28 days interval. She also clarified that the identification of the vaccinees was done by the municipal social welfare and development offices through Raquel Panal, provincial social welfare and development officer.
