Sarangani complies with DOTr’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 20, 2021) – Sarangani Transport Alliance for Reform and True Development (STARTeD) project manager Merly Nebres speaks before guests during the ribbon-cutting ceremony and launching of the modernized Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) of the transport cooperatives in Sarangani on August 16. She said “bisan pa ug nagpadayon ta sa pag-atubang aning atong mga problema tungod aning pandemic, pero ang opisina ni Governor Solon padayon gihapon sa pagsuporta para makab-ot nato ang handom sa atong probinsya alang sa modernization program.” On behalf of all the transport groups, Nebres thanked the Provincial Government of Sarangani under the leadership of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, Deputy Speaker Congressman Ruel Pacquiao and with the full support of all Sangguniang Panlalawigan members for assisting the cooperatives in processing the needed documents. The Alabel Transport Services Multi-Purpose Cooperative (ALTRANSMULCO), Malandag Transport Cooperative (MTC), and Kiamba Transport Cooperative (KIAMTRANSCO) each acquired one unit of modernized public utility jeepneys (MPUJ). Malungon Gensan Operators Drivers Transport Cooperative (MALGENTRANSCO), on the other hand, acquired three units. The Malapatan Driver’s Operators Transport Cooperative (MDOTC) had already acquired their first unit of MPUJ on June 14 and launched additional three units in the recent activity.
