Brand-new computers to aid BLGUs in legislative tasks

MALUNGON, Sarangani (September 4, 2021) – Malungon Federation of Association of Barangay Captains (FABC) president Romel Retuya (4th from right) receives one set of computer on September 1 as part of the culmination activity of the Barangay Legislative Information Tracking System (BLITS) orientation and workshop. Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta led the distribution together with Mayor Maria Teresa Constantino, Vice Mayor Mariano Escalada Jr., board members Jose Tranquilino Ruiz, Ephraim Galzote, Joseph Calanao, Corazon Grafilo and Sarangani’s Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president Rheymar Dian. A total of 31 computer sets was turned over as part of the BLITS program of Vice Governor De Peralta which provides technologically advanced software developed as a tool to effectively carry out legislative tasks. Retuya conveyed his gratitude to all the officials from the provincial, municipal and barangay local government units for the “collaborative effort” in carrying provisions such as the computer sets which he said “is a big help” in delivering their functions at the barangay level. BLITS, implemented in partnership with Mahintana Foundation Inc., is also aligned with Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon’s Sulong Pamunuan Program which intends to enhance the capacity of the local officials through the provision of trainings for the formulation and updating of barangay development plans, legal education, transformational leadership, barangay legislation, parliamentary procedures and ordinances, and resolution writing.
