Governor Solon, Australian Ambassador take up Covid-19

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (September 7, 2021) – Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and Australian Ambassador Steven J. Robinsons meet on September 2 to discuss matters related to Sarangani’s response to Covid-19 and the province’s economic development. Solon conveyed his appreciation for the “engaging dialogue” he had with the Australian Ambassador who has an “extensive diplomatic and development experience” of working in Australia’s embassies in Jakarta, Yangon and Bangkok. On September 3, the Australian Ambassador also visited the provincial Capitol of Sarangani and met some of the provincial officials where he expressed the “sincere willingness” of Australia to extend progressive opportunities to the province. “Australia will continue to look for further prospects to support developmental projects in the Philippines,” Robinson said. “I am certain that the Australian-Philippines relationship will further flourish and mature,” he added. Over his extensive career, Robinson has developed and expanded Australia’s relationships with a broad range of countries particularly focusing on the South East Asian region.
